Vulcan Heat Treating was started in 1997 because of their rapid growth in B7 threaded rod and the lack of commercial heat-treating for long bars in the United States.
After an exhaustive study for the best heat treat technology, Vulcan chose the induction heat treat method due to superior quality control of the bars throughout the entire process. A major validation of our decision to use the induction heat treat process was securing a 4 year contract in 2003 to produce quench and temper bars for the automotive industry.
The first line was commissioned in September of 1997 with the capabilities to produce heat treated bars from 9/16” through 4” diameter. The second line was commissioned in May 2004 with a similar size range as the first heat treat line. The third line was commissioned in August 2006 with a size range of 9/16” through 3” diameter.
As with our Threaded Rod and Cold Finish Divisions, Vulcan Heat Treat has experienced tremendous growth as a result of their dedication to quality and service.
